Dacorum PowHer Learning Disabilities Forum

Wednesday 22nd February 11am-2pm  

The next Dacorum Learning Disability Forum facilitated by POhWER on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council Co-Production Board is to be held at the Hemel Food Garden Greenhouse. Pop in and see what its all about.

PohWER provide free advocacy support, information and advice for vulnerable people and are running this. The initial talk is at 11.00am with the idea that people may stay and make connections with each other and the organisations that attend.

Organisations that are having information stands are – POhWER, Sunnyside, HertsHelp, Purple Star Strategy, Dacorum Learning Disability Nursing Team, HILs, Learning Disability Co-Production Board, Macmillan, Community Action Dacorum, Herts Inclusive Theatre, Purple (DPSS), Police – Hate Crime Officers and Step 2 Skills (Click here for more information   Inclusive Employment Project team – Sunnyside Rural Trust).

James worked really hard last week on the chicken shed concreting, over at Northchurch.

More concrete mixing. It’s never ending……

New lines for the farm shop. Valentines is around the corner so decorations are being made to use in the café & farm shop.

Kian & Samuel finished off some plant labels. Pete has hidden plumbing skills.

Charlie & Hollie were with Stuart & Andy at the Repair shed, making bird boxes.

Funding has been received from the Community Green Fund so work has now started on the Northchurch bus stop. Taylor, Ellie, Michel & Hollie were tidying the flowerbed ready to plant some pollinator plants and wildflower seeds.

Enjoying a sunny day, the lemon team are learning some Multiply techniques.

The Activity Centre have been at Coombe gardens this week – taking out dead shrubs that have suffered in this drought and not recovered.

Practicing measuring for all sorts of projects. Checking dimensions for new tablecloths.

Bundling reindeer legs into the same size lots. Practicing measuring and then cutting lengths. And measuring and cutting willow to make bird feeders.

All neatly put away.

This lovely houseplant is flowering away. Grown by trainees at HFG – it’s a Kalanchoe ‘flaming Katy’.

2 separate teams working at Berkhamsted School this week. Great job teams!

Time for a bus clean, Washing off the salty muck from the roads.

A team were in St. Albans at XMA this week.Coding, checking and packing again. Last day for the HFG team at XMA – great work.

Teams are working on a ‘multiply’ course at all sites to help with all forms of numbers. At HFG they are working on this in a crafts session.

Work has been started by Horohoe construction at HFG developing our office space, donating time and resources – a *BIG* Sunnyside thank you.
