May 2021, Update As Terry Douris’, Dacorum Mayor for 2 years, chosen charity we were presented with an amazing cheque last week as he formally handed over to the newly elected Mayor for 2021-2022 Councillor Stewart Riddick. Many congratulations.

A big Sunnyside thank you to Councillor Douris for his unstinting support over the last 2 years with our Northchurch project, where this money you will be used.

Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Terry Douris, has chosen us for his Charity of the Year and is supporting our exciting community project at Northchurch.  We’re over the moon to receive this wonderful recognition and support. The Mayor officially opened Northchurch in March 2021.

Councillor Terry Douris says ‘I am delighted to have chosen Sunnyside Rural Trust as the charity for my Mayoral Year.   When choosing my charity, I wanted one that had not benefited from being the Mayor’s charity for a decade, which engaged people with disabilities and finally had a presence across Dacorum. Sunnyside Rural Trust meets those criteria perfectly.

The core project that the fundraising will be used for is to pay for a new facility in Northchurch, with the intention to house a small number of rescued livestock for the trainees to care for.’

How you can support the Mayors Appeal:

Each year the Mayor raises funds for their chosen charity, through direct donations, fundraising events and other activities. If you would like to make a donation or donate a raffle prize, or attend a fundraising
