Hemel Food Garden Deputy Manager

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire 

Sunnyside Rural Trust is a registered charity offering horticultural training and employment opportunities to young people and adults with learning disabilities.  

We have a number of social enterprises where trainees can gain work experience and paid employment. Across our services we grow a range of fruit, vegetables, herbs, plants including a large number of bedding plants for Dacorum Borough Council, coppice wood, conservation projects and we have 2 farm shops. 

Hemel Food Garden (HFG) is a busy work environment and runs a lot of different types of training and work activities. It is an exciting place to work and offers people a real chance to gain skills and build their self-esteem, confidence and the opportunity of work. 

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the work they do and share the values of our organisation. We focus on what people can do and not what they cannot. We believe things can be done well and with integrity.  

The post holder must be able to work in an extremely organised and efficient manner and bring these qualities to the team, trainees and the site as a whole. We are particularly looking for someone with previous horticultural experience. You will need to be able to work positively and collaboratively alongside your team to ensure the service is safe, organised and enjoyable for all. 

Salary is up to £26,500 we also offer a range of attractive staff benefits and great development opportunities. We will consider full and part-time hours.
