Hello all. It’s cooling down now but the sun is still shining this morning. here’s this weeks update from all the sites.

Jules and Sam manned the Sunnyside produce stall last Sunday, at the Your Town Hemel Hempstead 5k Sunday.

*Wreath Making Event* our lovely event will be held on Saturday December 4th with 2, bookable sessions.

Christmas cake making has commenced at Hemel Food Garden. Decoration is planned for them at the end of November so that they are ready to sell in the cafe at the beginning of December. The baking tins were wrapped in newspaper to insulate it and this ensures that the middle of the cake cooks without the outside burning. These took 2hours on a low heat!

If only we had ‘smelly’ vision – the bakery smelt gorgeous that morning.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ashley & Stephen doing a fine job planting out the garlic in the allotment – hoping to keep the vampires away at Halloween!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Great team effort using maintenance skills of the yellow team, replacing the sprinkler heads of the overhead irrigation in the polytunnels.

Ian, Mike & Alex were up at Hemel Hempstead train station, putting in and planting up 2 raised planters on Wednesday. More will go up on one of the platforms in a couple of weeks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This months quiz writing from George & Gemma resulted in a fantastic win for the green team.

The caravan re-development at Northchurch is progressing…….Damp proofing went up and the windows cut out.

Volunteer group on Tuesday helping up in the fruit cage pruning and making fruit cuttings. It was a great first day and we got lots done. Looking forward to the next one on the 3rd Tuesday of the month
