Last week….The regular Outside contract work by Hemel Food Garden at Berkhamsted School. Great teamwork again.

Attending to the Hemel Food Garden allotment plots – spreading of compost from the onsite leaf mulch bay. ‘Black gold’ they call it as its leaves gathered last year which turn into an amazing mulch over a year as if by ’magic’.

Trainee led and inspired cooking group now running until Christmas. Great effort producing mac&cheese and a banoffee pie. Sous chefs in the making – all went down well!

Christmas crafting… the homemade Christmas decoration balls have been beribboned and finished in this week’s craft session. Garlands of teeny-weeny woolly hats strung and ready to go up. Potted bulbs with decorated pots and giant gift tags for sale in the shop. And test decorations – a new penguin design.

This week….

Winter preparations over at Berkhamsted School.

The Christmas cakes were made a few weeks ago and have been ‘fed’ regularly and now beautifully decorated with festive themes. Slices are on sale in the café. A cake has been saved for the trainees in Christmas week!
