Cafés, farm shops & market stall

We’re a social enterprise dedicated to championing workplace skills for adults with learning disabilities while selling locally and ethically produced products in our cafés and farm shops. Our cafés and farm shops offer trainees the opportunity to gain essential hospitality skills, including customer service, handling money, barista skills, cooking, and stock control.

We operate two cafés and farm shops: one at Hemel Food Garden and another in Northchurch. Additionally, we have a café in partnership with DENS at The Forum.

Keep up to date with our cafes on Instagram and Facebook!

The Sunnyside Up café & farm shop

Adjacent to the Hemel Food Garden’s farm shop is our charming Sunnyside Up café & farm shop. With a welcoming and friendly ambience, it’s perfect for both families and dogs. Nestled in a sunlit area, the café features outdoor seating and is a favoured stop for those strolling along the canal. We pride ourselves on the use of organic ingredients, advocating for zero waste, and offering plastic-free products. Additionally, our menu includes delicious vegetarian and vegan options.

Weekly Berkhamsted Market Stall

Every Thursday morning (10.30-12.30), we have our market stall on Berkhamsted High Street, selling Sunnyside’s own fruit and vegetables, eggs, apple juice, jams, chutneys and gifts. It is a great opportunity for trainees to learn about customer service, retail and engaging with the public.
