Welcome to the SRT blog No. 51

30th April 2021 – Welcome to our blog post No. 51

Everyone should have received a letter now about the really exciting news on the tablets from the Good Things Foundation project called Digital Lifeline. The aim of this project is to use digital inclusion to alleviate the disproportionate negative impact of Covid-19, on People with Learning Disabilities. This project identifies that people with learning disabilities are more likely not to have technology or be able to connect online and are more likely to be lonely. Research shows that being able to connect online helps people’s mental health and wellbeing and may reduce loneliness.

Sunnyside has been successful in its application to this project, and this means we are able to give each of our trainees a tablet that will belong to them. The tablets are a Lenovo Tab M10, and if people do not have wifi we can give people data too. They will also get a cover for the tablet and a stylus pen.

We also have some information to share with you about health promotion for people with learning disabilities.

This is in preparation for them to then be painted. They removed young tree branches, ivy, and lots of brambles, working through lunch to get the job done. Thanks team, great dedication!
