Welcome to the SRT blog No. 108

15th July 2022 – Welcome to our blog post No. 108

Anne is our July calendar photo – in the Tom Stuart-Smith garden this time last year at the RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival. What a fab week it was. On the right are some photos from then.

Oh, and that’s Charlie Harpur photo bombing from Tom Stuart-Smiths team.

The bees have been busy and the hives at Hemel Food Garden have had their first honey extraction this week. Yummy honey on its way.

A fabulous time last week at the BBQ hosted specially for the Sunnyside teams who have been working regularly at Berkhamsted School. A massive thank you to Russell and all the staff and pupils.

Brilliant weeding on an outside contract.

Alfie gave the mud kitchen a super clean and tidy this week as it’s regularly being used by our younger customers.

The Friday yoga attendees graduated and were wearing their stickers with pride. Well done everyone!

Here’s some photos of the catering teams super looking corporate lunch. Tasted as good as it looks I’m sure.

Our perennial plants sold from the Hemel Food Garden plant nursery (outside the farm shop) are looking amazing now. Do let all your friends know. They are sold at a great price and are grown peat free by the trainees.

The Activity Centre team were being closely watched by a blue winged pigeon this week.

Whilst over in Bovingdon Mark and Ed were kept busy watering the planters this week. Looking good.

And cleaning signs….Lewis. Lewis and Becca then Lewis and Simon

Weeding an alley in Bovingdon – by Sophia, Aisha and Riz. And close by Riz, Sophia, Aisha and Diana in action.

Noreen and Caroline enjoying the outside, preparing the lavender.

Picking redcurrants for the market stall this week – Noreen and Michael.

Steph and Hollie enjoyed making wind chimes in the craft group at Northchurch this week.

The harvest for the weekly veg boxes and preparation in the veg prep shed. No air miles and fresh as fresh – plus a bit wobbly.

Local litter pick this week in Northchurch. The gang includes Georgie, Jonnie, Hayford, Christian and Lee.

Cheeky tasting of the new raspberry harvest. Picking are Ian, Joe, Sarah and Nina.

Claire met the chickens for the first time on Tuesday morning. They loved their cabbage treat!

Sarah finishing off another coat of UV stain on a frame for one of the councils notice boards.

Here are the two matching notice boards for the Berkhamsted Town Council. Ready to be installed. Spot the difference between them.

New bird boxes being made at Northchurch

Ian trying to find some shade and with extra hat protection. Site BBQ with Ian in charge.

With the heat the animals are given frozen fruit that’s mushy and can’t be sold.

Hay raking and a bit of site work.

Christian has just achieved his black belt in judo and brought it into the Northchurch site to show everyone – congratulations!

Have a great weekend….

…until next week.
