Northchurch Shop
The shop at Northchurch is now open on Saturdays!

Starting from practically nothing but an empty site and a few tools, our Northchurch site has dramatically transformed over the years and now exists as a utilised allotment land that consists of several polly tunnels, green houses, orchard areas and the home of our free range chickens. A wide range of organic fruit and vegetables are grown in our well kept environments, along with many beautiful wild flowers that are all purchasable separately or in arranged hanging baskets that are made to order. Our service users work persistently hard on a daily basis to plant and maintain this produce to provide with the best organic quality produce possible.
In season, we run a shop on site, which has a regular clientele, and in the summer months, we run a twice weekly stall to sell our produce in Berkhamsted High Street.
Activities at Northchurch
- Looking after the chickens - feeding, cleaning out etc
- Looking after other livestock - parrots, finches & other small birds, golden pheasants
- Growing produce from seed or bulbs
- Looking after the crops
- Preparing the ground beforehand - digging, use of the rotivator
- Weeding & watering
- Looking after the site - mowing the grass, repairing and painting the chicken houses etc
